Dissonance
works by dimitri pavlotsky
July 10 – August 29, 2015
A retrospective of Dimitri Pavlotsky's oeuvre that highlights his quick painting techniques. Speed grabs essence better than deliberation. He sticks with gut reactions than pursuing an analytical process. It is not simply an illustration of the subject matter, but of an emotion revealed in the process. Materials are applied in non-traditional ways, yet the process leads to new discoveries, which he incorporates into the final image as they tell a deeper story.
